Below is the schedule for the masterclasses with the Pierre Auger Observatory in the IMC2026.
The registration is open for a maximum of 5 institutes per session, and the order of registry is made in a first-come-first-served basis.
The Pierre Auger Observatory organizes every year International Masterclass events for high-school students worldwide, included in the program of International Masterclasses (IMC) managed by the International Particle Physics Outreach Group (IPOGG).
During this activity, high-school students (15-18 years old) spend one full day at universities or research institutes. They learn about particle/astroparticle physics, about the Pierre Auger Observatory and analyze the Auger public data to look for answers to the question: “What is the origin of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays?” Afterwards, the students participate in a joint videoconference with their peers at other locations and with scientists at the Pierre Auger Observatory in Malargue, to discuss their results and make a virtual visit to the observatory.
